ABOUT
Spare Kid is a dynamic new force emerging from Antwerp. The band brings together four skilled musicians from Rijkevorsel who, in their previous projects (Gepetto & The Whales, Mountains To Move, Whyes, Captain Kaiser,…), played festivals like Pukkelpop, Boomtown, Maanrock, and Rock Herk. Their past accolades include selling out major venues such as Trix and Ancienne Belgique, signing with prominent labels like Warner Music and PIAS, receiving a MIA award nomination, and participating in De Nieuwe Lichting. They have also toured extensively through the UK and Europe. With this new project, Spare Kid, the group rediscovers and revitalizes their shared passion for pop punk and punk rock, infused with all the expertise and energy they have accumulated over the years.

In their quest to define Spare Kid's sound, the band has teamed up with Daan Nieboer (Moments, 18Miles), who brings his own touch to their production, steering away from their previous collaborations with producers like Brian Joseph (Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens) and Jay Maas (Drug Church, Title Fight). This shift heralds a fresh phase in their musical journey, as they return to the music that first ignited their passion—crafting songs that perfectly blend depth with an unbridled spirit. Their debut single "Preoccupied" captures the raw, vibrant energy of the pop punk genre, showcasing their refined musicianship in a genre they adore and know intimately. This track marks Spare Kid’s return to their roots and is their first step toward carving a new niche within the familiar landscape of pop punk, aiming to connect with fans of Knuckle Puck, The Story So Far, and Real Friends.
